I used to have a really cool “About” page on another server but the techs at the Network Operations Center blew up the SQL server and I lost everything! That would be iPower. Don’t use them!!!

About Me…

I think I would rather post my resume. But that doesn’t work. So here goes.

I am a Christian, Dad, Police Officer.

I am a US Navy combat veteran, and currently work as a police officer in a local Hampton Roads jurisdiction. I came off the street (uniform patrol) about 4 years ago to take over our Network Administration and Mobile Data Project. I handle all things network and mobile network (in the police cars) for the Police Department.

For a hobby/pseudo business, I design web pages and provide a limited amount of hosting services.

Professionally, I am also a photographer with several works published and many on display in local galleries in the Hampton Roads area. This is a hobby gone mad that started over thirty years ago.

For the Police Department I was/am a forensic photographer. I’m not going to discuss my “subjects” in this role.

I blog because I enjoy it. I like seeing my words in print. Hopefully, as I learn, my posts will become more interesting and informative.

What I do for fun…

I’m a biker.  I ride Harley-Davidson motorcycles.  When I’m off, I wear jeans and Harley-Davidson t-shirts.  But that is just part of it.

My beautiful wife, Katie, is a biker too.  And her “off” wardrobe is pretty similar. 

We love to ride.  Anywhere, any time we can.  We will ride 125 miles for an ice cream cone.  150 miles for a del-sandwich.  We just ride.

The world seems to get “all better” for the time we are riding.  Nothing really matters except “the ride”.

One of our greatest joys, is getting together with our friends Todd and Jen (oh yes… same wardrobe) and riding. 

There are several things this blog started out to be.

First, it was a personal journal. Then it became a political blog. Then I realized I really didn’t have enough knowledge about politics to fill a thimble much less a blog. So finally it became a place for me to comment on current events and politics. Bear with me while I learn…
