Sometimes one may feel sorry for criminals. And in this case I do.  Not because of their upbringing.  Or any of the normal reasons one might feel sorry for a kid gone bad.  I feel sorry for them because they are obviously too stupid to even be good petty criminals.  I know, harsh words.  Too bad.

Several years ago, I was on my way to lunch, and I happened upon a bank robbery in progress.  I saw the criminal running across the parking lot from the bank towards some other retail stores.  This guy left his properly registered car running in the parking lot, and if I’m not mistaken, wrote his demands on an envelope that was addressed to his wife or girlfriend at their actual address.  I thought that was a pretty dumb criminal.  What made this one so unique was that he decided to rob a bank that was next to one of the newest restaurants in the city, at lunch time.  With cops in the store.  He was caught before he ever really started running.  Now there was a 4 hour stand off with him inside a retail store, SWAT call out and so on.  He was eventually captured.  DUMB.

Then these two guys show up on the news radar, within a week of each other.

Now come one.  Just how much sense does it take to be a petty burglar?  Or rip off IPODS out of a store?  Surely not THAT much.  But these guys even lack that.  They need to share a jail cell.
