It would appear that The Virginian-Pilot is getting desperate to sell their paper product.
Beginning Monday, June 8, Kerry Dougherty and Mike Gruss will concentrate their online work on their PilotOnline.com blogs. And you’ll now find their columns only in The Virginian-Pilot. -=SOURCE=-
They have taken their “A” List columnists, Kerry Dougherty (blog) and Mike Gruss (blog) and moved their columns to the print edition only. You must subscribe to the newspaper to read their columns.
In the case of Mike Gruss, I could not possibly care any less. Bottom line, I can’t stand reading his writing. Would be the same for Roger Chesley.
Kerry on the other hand is a huge loss for online only readers. She’s insightful, takes her own stand, and calls it like she sees it.
While Kerry’s column was a must read for me, I will not subscribe to the paper simply to read that alone. I’ll pick up “second hand” copies around my office.
Sorry Virginian-Pilot. I don’t think your plan is going to work.
