Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee made the following remark while stumping for Republican Candidate Bob McDonnell:
And if that doesn’t work, well, flatten the Democrats’ tires and keep ‘em home, he joked.
Like anytime you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the one that gets hit yelps.
And the Democrats’ candidate Terry McAuliffe yelped:
But former Democratic national chairman Terry McAuliffe isn’t laughing. In a media conference call Thursday, the current Virginia gubernatorial candidate said denying people the right to vote is “not a laughing matter.” -=SOURCE=-
A little background.
In 2004, the current head Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Virginia, Levar Stoney, was with a group of operatives in Milwaukee. The group was accused of slashing the tires on nearly 100 cars rented by the Republican Party. When he was questioned by the Milwaukee Police he lied to them, denying any knowledge.
But defense attorneys also were able to get Levar Stoney, of Virginia, and Leshaunda Joy Williams, of New York, to admit they lied to Milwaukee Police Department interrogators shortly after the Nov. 2, 2004 incident in order to safely flee the city. Stoney and Williams both were in Milwaukee to help hype Dem turnout in the final weeks of the Kerry-Edwards presidential bid. -=SOURCE=-
So just who was the head of the DPVA DNC in 2004 when this incident occurred? None other than… Terry McAuliffe. Go figure.
No wonder he doesn’t like people mentioning “tires” around election time.
