I am strongly considering going back to a blogging format vice a magazine. This is just becoming too much to try to maintain.
Can you fill me in on the major drawbacks before I make the jump?

Yeah.
For each post, whether a “Featured” article or not. You have to have a default 300×200 image (see: http://scottsmb.com/blog/ ) Notice the big WHITE areas on some of the summaries? My “default” image is just a 300×200 block of whitespace. If you don’t designate a “featured” image it uses the default.
Also, on the main page, if you don’t designate a thumbnail, it defaults to whitespace (the image I chose).
These are not problems with the theme, its just more issue than its worth to me to generate or capture an image for each and every posting. At least for a personal blog.
Bearing Drift or the Police Department Blog I created (http://www.portsmouthpd.us) is more suited to a theme like this.
Bottom line is, its just a little more work than I am willing to invest in a personal blog.
This one falls into personal preference. While I absolutely love the look and feel of a magazine theme, it requires more work to put an article up than I am willing to donate. I go through cyclic phases of blogging. Some weeks I put up 2 or 3 a day. Others, 2 or 3 a week or less.

Thanks. I’m thinking this may not be what I want to do after all. I may have more questions.
