Kat at Chathouse Chat is hosting this year’s Carnival of Christmas!
The Carnival is open to all bloggers who want to share their thoughts, memories, recipes, stories or… whatever about this time of year.
It’s a very overt attempt to take our eyes off of the commercialism the the Christmas has become and focus it back on family, joy, and of course the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Kat writes:
I am calling for submissions from bloggers for their posts which celebrate the joy of this season. Family memories, favorite recipes, Christmas stories, meditations on the birth of Christ, thoughts on how to focus on the true meaning of the season vs. commercialism, and so on. I will happily include Hanukkah posts as well, or even Kwanzaa, so long as everyone remembers to focus on the joy and love and wonder of the season.
Take a look at last year’s Carnival, the one from 2006, or the first one, and you’ll have an excellent idea of what the Carnival is all about.
Please take a few moments and read the announcement and see if you can contribute. This is the fourth year in a row for the carnival’s existence and the second year that Kat has hosted it.
I had a wonderful time last year writing my submission. Unfortunately, it’s gone due to my heavy handedness with my blog.
I am looking forward to writing something this year as well. Hopefully a little more upbeat than last year.
Kat, thank you for your tireless efforts within the blogging community. I think sometimes we overlook just how much you do for the blogging community, your family and humanity as a whole. You are a kind and giving person and I wanted to thank you publicly for all you do. You stand ready, willing and able to assist if anyone calls, with wise counsel and even the crack of a ruler on a punchy set of knuckles if need be. THANK YOU for you.
Now off to start writing for the Carnival!!!
