As many of you know on August 27th, 2008, Tommy Neeson, a member of the Tidewater Striders Board of Directors, embarked on a journey running from Maine to Florida all to raise support and awareness for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). He runs in memory of his daughter, Randi who was diagnosed with a brain tumor a few weeks before her second birthday and lost her battle ten years ago. Ronald McDonald House was there for him and his family and Tommy wants to make sure these houses will be around in the future for others that need them.
One of Tommy’s 25 stops along the way will be this Sunday, September 28th at the Ronald McDonald House in Norfolk. To welcome Tommy to town, they will be having a fundraiser/pasta dinner at
6 p.m. that evening. The cost is $5 for the dinner and Tommy will be on hand to tell tales of his adventures on the road – there have been some good ones! If you are interested in attending, please call the Norfolk Ronald McDonald House at 627-5386 so they can estimate a head count. Tommy will have tons to talk about and we’re sure everyone will be searching for the nearest watering hole after dinner for a couple of cold ones.
