The Speaker did not shut the House down, the House voted to adjourn…
August 1st, 2008 by Scott

That is the statement that I received from a Pelosi staffer when I called her office.  And it’s a lie.

The main stream media has been quiet on most of this, though there has been some coverage on MSNBC and FOX News.  I however, did not see it.  Most of the coverage of this event has been in the “new media”.  And the source of that coverage?  The people who were in the fight.  See my post below for some links.

Some of the best chronological coverage of today’s events is at Human Events.  Where the posting is titled:

Rep. Shadegg to Pelosi: ‘You Cannot Repress Free Speech, Madame Speaker!’

The first shot of the revolution was fired a few hours ago, as Republicans prepared to commence their five minute addresses that would decry the lack of any votes on meaningful energy legislation. From the Democratic side, a motion to adjourn for the day shot up. Then CSPAN, which covers House proceedings on television, was shut down. The microphones on the House floor were turned off.  -=SOURCE=-

What I am finding pretty amazing right now is the blogosphere itself, traditional blogs are fairly quiet about what happened today.  What I am calling the “Republican Revolution”.  We need to cover what the main stream liberal media will not.

Go to http://dongo.us http://dontgo.us (Thanks Lorraine!!!) and follow the Twitter discussions and comments.  Look for the various members of the House who were sending out information as it happened today.

Are you seeing this?  When Pelosi tried to silence the House, the Republicans spoke up.  Loud.  When Pelosi tried to hold the House dark, the Republicans let the sunshine in.  Very simply, Pelosi was trying to silence the voice of reason, the voice of common sense.

AND SHE FAILED MISERABLY. Like she has through her entire term as Speaker of the House.

The Republican Revolution.
