OFFICER DOWN – Proceeds from water park ticket sales to benefit family of fallen officer

Ocean Breeze Waterpark will hold a fundraiser Sunday for the family of Virginia Beach Police Detective Mike Phillips.

A portion of ticket sales Sunday will be donated to Phillips’ family, according to a police news release.

Donation boxes also will be on site with proceeds going to the Phillips family, police said.

Phillips, 37, died after being shot during an undercover drug operation, police said.

The park is located at 849 General Booth Blvd., Virginia Beach.
